Brian joined the club in the 2026-27 pre-season from Bury and brings an impressive track record to the new position at Runcorn Linnets.
The retired PE teacher had taken on the equivalent role at the Shakers ahead of last season when, as Northern Premier League West champions, they achieved a second successive promotion.
Brian had previously held a similar position at FC United of Manchester.
He initially served the Red Rebels as assistant manager, from May 2019 and returned four years ago as FCUM's head of recruitment and player pathways.
Bury-born Brian also brings vast experience of management and will perhaps be best known to Linnets fans as a former boss of both Prescot Cables and Bootle.
Having played professionally for Blackpool, he has also managed at Ashton Town and Daisy Hill while 10 years' service at Skelmersdale United featured a spell as assistant manager.
Brian's duties at Linnets also encompass scouting opposition teams and supporting manager Michael Ellison and the staff at training and on selected matchdays.
