Linnets' third campaign  victory over Alty is biggest



Runcorn Linnets Ladies have given themselves a chance of finishing third in the North West Women's Regional League's South Division.

They blitzed Altrincham Women 6-1 in the final game of their season at Partington Sports Village on Sunday.

They are now a point clear of fourth-placed Manchester Ladies, who will close their campaign on Easter Sunday with a home game against runner-up Chester FC Women.

Linnets had already beaten Altrincham twice this season - 3-1 at home in the league and 4-1 away in the Cheshire Women's Cup.

They completed the hat-trick with a handful of second half goals, the scores having been tied 1-1 at the break.


Linnets Ladies, playing at Step 6 of the women's pyramid, are looking to recruit to for the 2026/27 season.
