Bringing a wealth of experience to APEC Taxis Stadium, Jay is playing in NPL League West for the first time after spending his career in higher divisions.
He made 150 EFL League Two appearances for City, Tranmere Rovers and Macclesfield Town.
A former Everton Academy player, Jay won the FA Trophy with Wrexham and back-to-back promotions with Tranmere into League One.
Jay arrived at Linnets after five years (170 appearances and 18 goals) with Warrington Town.
