Steven skippered Widnes to the NPL West Division championship last season and joined Linnets from Vauxhall Motors in January 2026.
The 35-year-old defensive midfielder launched his career at Liverpool, progressing through the youth ranks to lead the reserve team.
He played in the Netherlands, Finland and Denmark and on returning to England for Skelmersdale United, FC United of Manchester, Stalybridge Celtic, Marine and Warrington Rylands.
