Midfield
Signed in summer 2025, Markell is a strong midfield player, who can also play centre back, and had spent most of 2024-25 in the North West Counties League Premier Division as captain of Stockport Town.
A former Burnley junior and Salford City youth player, Markell made 42 appearances last season.
In March 2025, he had signed for Leek Town, stepping up two levels to the NPL Premier. He arrived at Linnets having already played in the West Division for Clitheroe and 1874 Northwich.
